Two studies, two answers

Is there a young adult revival?

Credible researchers disagree, because they measure different things. Read both before you brief your board.

Barna Group, Sep 2025
Yes, among churchgoers

Gen Z churchgoers now attend 1.9 weekends a month and Millennial churchgoers 1.8, against 1.6 for all churched adults. Barna calls it the highest rate among young Christians it has tracked.

Measures: how often churchgoers attend.

Pew Research Center, Dec 2025
No clear evidence overall

Among all adults born 1995 to 2002, 26% attend monthly and 30% pray daily, against 43% and 59% of the oldest adults. Pew finds religion holding steady since 2020, not reviving.

Measures: religiosity among all young adults.
